Damiaanhuis is an initiative of the non-profit organizations Mensen In Nood (MIN) and Bond Zonder Naam. The building is situated in the working-class neighbourhood of Seefhoek in Antwerp and provides supported housing for people living in poverty, persons with a disability and ex-offenders. The project is an extension of the sheltered workshop Werkhuizen MIN, another project by META.
Damiaanhuis comprises twelve studios, communal facilities and an apartment for the support worker. It offers a stepping stone towards social reintegration, encouraging independence. The architecture is dignified and classical in a contemporary way.
